About the position
The Major Gifts Officer at Path of Hope Rescue is a part-time, volunteer position focused on securing significant contributions to support the organization's mission of rescuing high-risk dogs. This role involves building and maintaining relationships with major donors, communicating the impact of the rescue's work, and developing strategies to engage and steward donors effectively. The position requires a commitment of five hours per week with flexible scheduling, allowing for remote work.
Responsibilities
- Cultivate and manage relationships with major donors, ensuring a strong, personalized connection to the rescue.
- Develop strategies to engage and steward existing and prospective donors.
- Work with leadership to communicate funding needs and program impact to donors.
- Track donor interactions and provide regular updates on progress.
Requirements
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- Previous fundraising or major donor experience is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and commit to 5 hours weekly.
- Passionate about animal welfare and the rescue's mission.
