About the position

The Major Gifts Officer at Catholic Charities New Hampshire (CCNH) is a full-time role focused on securing funds for the organization by managing, cultivating, and stewarding relationships with donors. This position is integral to the Development team, helping to match donors' passions with CCNH programs that support vulnerable populations. The role involves managing a portfolio of existing donors, identifying new prospects, and ensuring donor retention and engagement.

Responsibilities

• Help donors accomplish their philanthropic goals through a relationship with the organization.
• Manage systems and software to track and cultivate donors and prospects.
• Manage an existing portfolio of at least 150 donors and prospects.
• Make direct, face-to-face solicitations and assist the Board and other staff with their solicitation.
• Communicate with donors by phone to accept donations, verify information, and answer general questions.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years of experience in major gifts solicitation, donor stewardship, fundraising, direct appeals, high net-worth individual sales, or other development work, preferred.
• Knowledgeable in computers specifically Microsoft Office, and ability to learn complex database systems (Raiser's Edge experience a plus).
• Ability to manage people, processes, deadlines, and budget.
• Strong listening and communication skills, and ability to build relationships and work directly with donors.
• Ability to travel throughout the state to meet with donors and prospects.
