About the position

The Major Gifts Officer will lead fundraising efforts for a global humanitarian organization, focusing on building and maintaining relationships with high-net-worth donors. This role is crucial for securing funding that supports communities affected by crises worldwide, requiring a strategic approach to donor engagement and collaboration with internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a portfolio of major giving donors and prospects, focusing on high-net-worth individuals.
• Develop and implement donor-centered strategies to engage prospective major donors.
• Collaborate with senior leaders and program experts to create compelling proposals and communications.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between donor priorities and organizational needs.
• Lead high-level engagement activities, including donor meetings and events.
• Collaborate with a dedicated manager to track progress against financial goals and provide regular updates on donor activity.

Requirements

• At least 3-6 years of progressive experience in nonprofit fundraising.
• Proven ability to secure major gifts and drive fundraising success.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team-based setting.
• Proficiency in using donor databases and other fundraising tools.
• A deep passion for advancing international development and humanitarian work.
