About the position

The Makeup Artist at Fatou Aesthetics Medspa is responsible for providing a variety of professional makeup services to clients, ensuring high standards of service and client satisfaction. This role involves customizing makeup applications, educating clients on techniques and products, and collaborating with team members to enhance the overall client experience. The Makeup Artist will also maintain records of client interactions and participate in promotional activities.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with clients to understand their makeup needs and desired outcomes.
  • Perform customized makeup applications for various purposes, including day-to-day wear, special events, and photo sessions, adhering to facility standards.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships by ensuring satisfaction with services and addressing any questions or concerns.
  • Maintain accurate records of client appointments, preferences, and any specific product recommendations following each session.
  • Follow up with clients after appointments, as necessary, to ensure satisfaction and promote return visits.
  • Identify personal training, certification, and educational needs and communicate these to management for continuous skill development.
  • Participate in facility events, promotional activities, and other marketing efforts as directed by management.
  • Educate clients on available makeup services, current promotions, and rewards programs.
  • Recommend skincare and makeup products suited to each client's skin type and personal style.
  • Coordinate with the Patient Care Coordinator regarding scheduling and client bookings.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of makeup tools, work area, and equipment, conducting safety checks as required.
  • Promptly inform management of any client concerns, complaints, or service issues.
  • Generate management-approved social media content showcasing makeup applications, techniques, and products.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management and ensure that non-appointment time is utilized productively.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or issues immediately to the Owner.

Requirements

  • Esthetician, in aesthetic school or already a Makeup Artist is a PLUS!
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience in professional makeup artistry is preferred.
  • Certification from an accredited makeup program or equivalent.
  • Licensure in the state of Ohio (if required by local laws and regulations).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively with other team members.
  • Knowledge of makeup tools, techniques, and sanitation practices.
  • Proficiency in computer-based scheduling and client management software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, team members, and management.
  • Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and professional integrity.
  • Ability to stay current with makeup trends and product offerings, including skin-safe and allergy-conscious products.
  • Physical capability to perform makeup applications, including standing for long periods and handling makeup tools and supplies.
  • Flexibility with hours, including availability for early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed for client scheduling.
