About the position

The Baggage Clerk is responsible for ensuring the safety and comfort of passengers traveling by bus. This role involves assisting passengers with their luggage, maintaining cleanliness in the terminal, and ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Be courteous and helpful in the accommodation of traveling passengers
• Demonstrate safety procedures in the loading & unloading of luggage & baggage on designated bus carrier
• Issue and collect passenger's baggage claim tickets and store or discard tickets to prevent reuse
• Clean, sweep & mop floors within the bus terminal lobby
• Inspect bathroom and facilities in the bus terminal area to ensure adherence to sanitation requirements
• Maintain restrooms clean
• Replenish supplies to bathroom as needed
• Help in establishing order among passengers
• Carry luggage and baggage to assigned station platform
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Terminal Manager

Requirements

• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
• Able to work under pressure in peak periods
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in management
• Bilingual in Spanish
