About the position
The position involves the administration of ionizing radiation for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, as well as research purposes. The technologist will operate radiographic equipment independently and provide high-quality diagnostic images to radiologists and referring physicians. The role also includes assisting radiologists with interventional biopsy procedures and utilizing advanced digital imaging systems.
Responsibilities
- Administer ionizing radiation to patients for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Assist radiologists with interventional biopsy procedures.
- Operate radiographic equipment independently.
- Provide high-quality diagnostic images to radiologists and referring physicians.
- Utilize advanced computer-assisted digital image recording and analysis systems.
Requirements
- Graduate of an Allied Health Education and Accreditation (AMA) Radiography program.
- Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Mammography certification required within 24 months of hire if not currently certified.
