About the position

The Mammography Technologist at UW Medical Center - Northwest is responsible for performing screening and diagnostic mammography procedures accurately and efficiently. This role involves working independently under the supervision of a department supervisor, ensuring high-quality imaging and patient care in a state-of-the-art radiology department.

Responsibilities

  • Independently performs assigned exams and procedures in accordance with established protocols and standards.
  • Produces technically acceptable radiographs in accordance with departmental procedures.
  • Selects proper technical factors and reviews digital images for technical quality.
  • Provides Radiologists with requested information for each exam and assists with problem-solving.
  • Performs quality assurance checks on equipment and processes per department policies.
  • Investigates and informs supervisor of any quality issues or problems.
  • Assists supervisor to establish, update, and monitor protocols.

Requirements

  • Satisfactory completion of formal technology training in an AMA approved school.
  • Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent education/experience.
  • Certified by the State of Washington as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • Registered by ARRT as a Mammography Technologist before completion of probationary period.
