About the position

The Mammography Clinical Lead is responsible for ensuring the quality of patient care at the Carolina Surgical Care Breast Center. This role involves overseeing mammography services, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and leading a team to improve service quality and patient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to Service Excellence Standards and Expectations at Carolina Surgical Care Breast Center/CRMG
  • Exhibit excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers
  • Work as a member of a quality team to continuously improve work quality
  • Perform visual preventative safety inspections and report dangerous department or equipment conditions
  • Utilize all assigned functions of the Radiology Information Computer System
  • Develop and maintain an efficient work assignment to minimize patient waiting time and maximize patient throughput
  • Confirm patient identification prior to procedure by verbal confirmation
  • Implement and maintain all MQSA requirements to perform mammography
  • Review images periodically to ensure good quality and work with radiologists to improve image quality
  • Maintain established department policies, procedures, objectives, and quality improvement programs
  • Participate in the annual FDA, ACR, and ACS inspection
  • Perform quality control of the FSA, ACR, and ACS according to guidelines
  • Keep accurate documentation of technologist and physician credentials and compliance with guidelines
  • Stay current in breast imaging modalities and breast intervention devices
  • Evaluate and help in the installation of new equipment
  • Practice radiation safety according to department policies
  • Coordinate equipment preventive maintenance and call service engineer as needed
  • Educate patients and families regarding exam, treatment, and outcome
  • Create and develop specific modality protocols for mammography and stereotactic breast biopsies
  • Assist in developing CQI Indicators
  • Review requests for new procedures and determine profitability
  • Engage in community involvement to promote Breast Center Services and cancer awareness
  • Review and revise policies and procedures as needed at the breast center

Requirements

  • Successful completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • 5+ years of mammography experience
  • ARRT registered
  • Mammography registered
  • BLS certified or certification required within 6 months
