About the position

The Mammography Technologist at RAYUS Radiology is responsible for operating imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images of patients' bodies. This role emphasizes patient-centered care, ensuring that patients are informed and comfortable throughout the imaging process. The position requires adherence to professional standards and excellent customer service, making it a critical role in the diagnostic and treatment process.

Responsibilities

  • Screens patients before exams for precautions or contradictions using two patient identifiers.
  • Explains and prepares patients for Mammography imaging procedures, including positioning them appropriately.
  • Performs routine and advanced Mammography imaging procedures with minimal supervision, providing patient support throughout the process.
  • Adjusts Mammography scan parameters as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques.
  • Maintains positive relationships with radiologists, referring customers, and colleagues.
  • Follows physicians' orders and safety regulations to protect patients and coworkers.
  • Accurately maintains patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area, promoting good safety habits.
  • Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.
  • Cleans and disinfects equipment after each use to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Assists with maintaining an updated imaging protocol manual and software upgrades.
  • Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary.
  • Assists with training of new associates as applicable.
  • Completes other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Direct and relevant experience in Mammography imaging.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Ability to operate imaging equipment and adjust scan parameters as needed.
  • Strong communication skills to explain procedures to patients and address their concerns.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Radiology Information Systems (RIS).
  • Certification in Mammography from a recognized body.
