About the position

The Managed Lanes and Ramp Signals Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of managed lanes and ramp signaling systems within the District Four area, specifically focusing on the I-95 and I-75 corridors. This role involves applying knowledge of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and Traffic Signals to ensure optimal performance of the Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSM&O) Program. The position requires strong project leadership skills and the ability to analyze performance metrics to implement improvements.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing managed lanes operations.
• Overseeing ramp signaling operations.
• Evaluating and analyzing project-related performance metrics.
• Developing and implementing recommendations to mitigate performance measures degradation.
• Conducting and overseeing operational analyses.
• Updating the District 4 Express Lanes Operational Procedures (ELOP) at least once a year.
• Providing project-related data and information to others (internal and external).
• Coordinating and supporting testing for all software, hardware, and firmware upgrades/changes for Managed Lanes and Ramp Signaling.
• Reviewing and updating operational parameters including Time of Day, Level of Service, and Traffic Density Delta tables for Express Lanes.
• Representing the DEPARTMENT in meetings, workshops, and presentations as the project lead and technical expert.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in an engineering discipline or any STEM discipline.
• Minimum of two years of experience in a Transportation Management Center or similar environment.
• Signal operations, design, or maintenance experience.

Nice-to-haves

• IMSA Traffic Signal Technician Level II certification.
• Familiarity with Florida Department of Transportation's policies and specifications.
