About the position

The Energy Resources Division Budget Director is responsible for providing financial analysis and support for programs within the division, ensuring that funds are budgeted, managed, and utilized effectively in compliance with state and federal regulations. This role involves guiding division leadership and staff in fiscal planning, budget development, and resource management, contributing to the efficient operation of the division.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial analysis and support for programs in the Division of Energy Resources.
• Ensure program funds are budgeted, managed, and used in accordance with state and federal requirements.
• Guide division leadership and staff in fiscal and budgetary planning, development, analysis, and reporting.
• Monitor appropriations, expenditures, salary allocations, and accounting transactions.
• Manage project and resource allocation, long-range forecasting, and adherence to financial policies.
• Strategically plan and prioritize spending and carryover funds across budgets and fiscal years.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
• Three years of experience performing financial analysis and management.
• Thorough knowledge of public sector business administration principles and practices.
• Ability to apply financial management methodologies and policy interpretation.
• Understanding of complex financial accounting systems and reporting, including SWIFT and JIRA.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of project management practices and principles.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics or other CRM tools.
• Ability to adapt to continuous organizational changes and work constructively under pressure.
