About the position

The City of Del Mar is seeking a Management Analyst/Associate Management Analyst for the Public Works Department. This role involves supporting the management staff in overseeing procurement processes, capital projects, grant applications, and compliance reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and a passion for public service, contributing to the maintenance and improvement of the city's essential infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities.
  • Prepare written and oral reports for the City Council, boards, commissions, and other community groups.
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets and provide ongoing analysis, recommendations, and expenditure monitoring.
  • Manage the department's procurement/contract processes, including compliance with California Uniform Construction Cost Accounting Procurement Program.
  • Provide administrative support to various City Advisory Committees.
  • Perform annual, quarterly, and monthly operational compliance reporting.
  • Create and implement standardized department policies and procedures.
  • Administer capital projects grant programs, including application, implementation, and reporting.
  • Conduct analytical studies and prepare and submit data and reports; ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Manage the department's records retention program.
  • Process public records and engineering plans requests.
  • Respond to citizen complaints and requests for information.
  • Coordinate, support, and manage programs and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in public administration or related field.
  • Management Analyst Level: Minimum of one year of related work experience.
  • Associate Management Analyst Level: Minimum of three years of related experience; a master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.
