About the position

The Management Analyst position at the Central Texas Veterans Health Care System (CTVHCS) is responsible for overseeing the workload of surgical subspecialty clinic staff, including Medical Support Assistants. This role serves as a resource for Surgical Service personnel, providing advice and assistance to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency within the surgical clinics. The analyst will collect, analyze, and report on clinical data to address access issues and enhance patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve issues related to clinical and non-clinical administration and patient-related matters.
  • Recommend improvements for the effectiveness and efficiency of Surgical Service operations.
  • Collect, consolidate, analyze, and verify statistical data to assist surgical specialty clinics.
  • Analyze the Clinical Utilization Statistical Standardization (CUSS) report to maximize clinic capacity utilization.
  • Assist the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) in managing consults for specialty clinics.
  • Direct the workflow of Medical Support Assistants within Surgical Service.
  • Populate the On-going Provider's Professional Evaluation (OPPE) form with workload and clinical utilization data.
  • Monitor clinical statistical reporting and provide professional advice as necessary.
  • Perform on-site visits to ensure data accuracy and reporting methods.
  • Develop and establish procedures for report submission in coordination with the Systems Redesign Coordinator.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must be able to serve a probationary period if required.
  • Background/security investigation may be required.
  • Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is mandatory for all VA Health Care Personnel.
  • Participation in the COVID-19 vaccination program is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with computerized patient record systems (CPRS) and VistA.
  • Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet presentation, and database management.
  • Knowledge of VA Financial Management System (FMS) and VA Time and Attendance System (VATAS).
