About the position

The Management Analyst position at the Department of Defense involves analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of operations to meet established goals and objectives. The role requires preparing detailed plans, performing work measurements, and developing documentation for processes and procedures. The analyst will also provide program support and consultation services related to organizational changes and efficiency improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and evaluate quantitative or qualitative effectiveness of operations in meeting established goals and objectives.
  • Prepare detailed plans and perform work measurements, methods and procedures, benchmarking, and/or time-engineered studies to improve production efficiency.
  • Gather, interpret, analyze, and correlate large amounts of narrative and statistical information about workload and productivity, and validate staffing requirements.
  • Generate statistical data, reports, charts, spreadsheets, and other outputs as directed by management.
  • Extract and compile data from subject matter personnel, databases, and reports for compilation of data and preparation of statistical data.
  • Develop documentation of processes and procedures for developing reports, charts, or other items.
  • Provide program support, assessment, and consultation services for interrelated issues/programs such as reorganization and realignment coordination.
  • Collect and analyze organizational data and information to justify changes and recommendations on position management, operations, cost, and performance efficiency.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level for GS-09 applicants or GS-09 level for GS-11 applicants in related fields.
  • Education from an accredited college or university may substitute for specialized experience (Master's for GS-09, Ph.D. for GS-11).
  • Ability to gather and analyze data to provide solutions related to project progress and administrative functions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in project management and qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Familiarity with occupational safety and health standards and regulations.
