About the position

The Management and Financial Analyst position within the Finance and Services Branch of the FAA Academy involves performing complex financial and analytical duties related to budget formulation, execution, and presentation. The role requires providing leadership and expertise in financial management, interpreting financial data, and developing reports to support the Academy's diverse programs. The incumbent will manage various funds, conduct financial analyses, and ensure compliance with federal regulations while collaborating across organizational lines.

Responsibilities

• Perform budget formulation, execution, and presentation based on understanding of the Academy's programs.
• Provide leadership and expertise in financial management and federal regulations.
• Review and interpret financial data from various sources and develop financial statements.
• Gather budget and financial statistical data and create reports for managerial responses.
• Conduct revenue, cost, expense, and budgetary analyses.
• Manage assigned allocations and perform fund certifier duties for all funding types.
• Prepare statements on agency prescribed cycles and reconcile with agency systems.
• Analyze and assemble information for reports and program planning regarding expenditures.
• Develop and maintain financial tracking systems and monitor expenditures for accuracy.
• Perform trend analysis and support group cost analysis.

Requirements

• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-H (GS/FG-12) level.
• Experience working with Franchise funds, Reimbursable funds, Operations funds, and Facilities & Equipment funds.
• Experience in revenue, cost analysis, financial results analysis, and business planning.
• Ability to analyze data for reports and program planning.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of Federal Appropriation Law and Revenue/Expense Recognition.
