The incumbent will serve as a Management and Program Analyst (Cyberspace Operations) for USSOUTHCOM in the Operations Directorate-Information Operations Division in Miami, FL. This position is critical in planning and synchronizing cyberspace resources and utilizing both offensive and defensive measures for the command's execution of Cyberspace Operations (CO). The primary goal is to deter, disrupt, and defeat adversaries in cyberspace terrain. The analyst will provide guidance to personnel on a wide range of issues related to Cyberspace Operations planning, organizational change, organizational culture, and operational management and analysis. In this role, the incumbent will direct Operational Planning Teams and Working Groups, as well as engage with Security Cooperation Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and partner nations. The position involves conducting planning for the use of assigned Cyber Protection Forces and coordinating service contributions of the Joint Cyber Mission Forces in support of current and future USSOUTHCOM contingency plans, crisis action, and operations. The analyst will also provide overall assessments addressing the cyberspace operations associated with operational planning and develop cyber training objectives and courses of action for exercises. This position is a permanent, full-time role with a salary range of $92,619 - $120,401 per year, classified under the GS-12 pay scale. The incumbent will be expected to travel occasionally, up to 20% of the time, and may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations. The role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance and to pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter. The position is designated as "Emergency-Essential," meaning it is critical during national emergencies or mobilization and cannot be vacated during such times.
