About the position

This position is located in the National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS), Chief Financial Officer/Chief Administrative Officer (CFO/CAO), Mission Support Branch (MSB), with one vacancy in Silver Spring, MD. Responsibilities

  • Serve as an analyst and advisor to management on the evaluation of the effectiveness of human capital programs and operations or the productivity and efficiency of the management of Federal agencies.
  • Analyze and evaluate the assigned program or Divisions (on a quantitative and qualitative basis) for the effectiveness and efficiency of overall plans, policies and procedures and recommend systemic adjustment to strategies and improvement initiatives.
  • Identify benchmarking opportunities for continuous improvement and provides management with recommendation for adaptation to the organization.
  • Prepare and coordinates briefings, special reports, and responses to data requests for use of leadership.
  • Consult program and project representatives to collect information about processes, procedures, deficiencies, and concerns.
  • Assess, evaluate, and determine actions to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be U.S. Citizens.
  • Suitable for Federal employment, as determined by background investigation.
  • Must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
  • A background investigation will be required for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.

  • Experience in human capital functions in areas such as recruitment and outreach, partnering with internal and external organizations, or workforce management.
