About the position

As a Director in RSM's Industrials Consulting practice, you will play a pivotal role in helping mid-market organizations refine their strategies and execute transformational initiatives that enhance profitability, cash flow, and growth. This position involves direct interaction with clients' C-suite teams and private equity representatives, focusing on driving growth and delivering innovative solutions to complex business challenges. The role requires a deep understanding of the industrials sector, particularly in manufacturing and distribution, and the ability to articulate the firm's value proposition effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Model the core RSM values of respect, integrity, teamwork, excellence, and stewardship in all interactions with clients and team members.
  • Lead and contribute to practice and firm-wide initiatives related to recruiting, talent development, technical methodology, engagement economics, and industry leadership.
  • Build and develop new connections and leverage existing networks to drive growth within the Industrials industry.
  • Maintain responsibility for C-suite, board-level, and key client relationships, becoming a trusted advisor in the industrials sector.
  • Manage, motivate, and mentor teams to optimize and expand capabilities, fostering an environment of trust and innovation.
  • Designate appropriate assignments and leverage experience to help colleagues realize their full potential.
  • Contribute to thought leadership development and present at relevant industry events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, supply chain management, economics, business, accounting, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 15 years of industrials industry experience, with a balance of consulting and industry experience highly valued.
  • Strong industrials business acumen, including significant experience leading strategic initiatives and executing transformational events in the Industrials sector.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and advanced written, verbal, and presentation skills, including interaction with senior management.
  • Demonstrated success in high-pressure scenarios and the ability to travel to meet client needs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience leading performance improvement initiatives in manufacturing, plant consolidations, or process transformations.
  • Knowledge of ERP, CRM, WMS, TMS systems and big data analytics.
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
