About the position

The Management and Program Analyst position within the Waterfront Division of Strategic Systems Program is a competitive detail opportunity designed to develop competencies necessary for the role. This position does not involve a salary change during the training period and offers a chance to gain experience in strategic missile and weapons system support, operational planning, and production management systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic missiles and strategic weapons system support to the fleet and other designated activities.
• Ensure continuity for Wharf Operations through comprehensive planning, preparation, communication, and coordination.
• Advise on long and short-term operations planning for evolutions/operations, activation, maintenance, and loading/off-loading of strategic assets to and from submarines.
• Perform studies, surveys, and inspections to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of production management systems for wharf operations.
• Coordinate inspection and audit findings and compose responses for leadership's approval prior to submission.
• Develop and gather necessary information and submit formal recommendations concerning departmental and command policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
• Specialized experience must demonstrate conducting ordnance handling program analysis.
• Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree may qualify.
• Combination of education and experience may also qualify.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in military operations or logistics management.
• Knowledge of strategic weapons systems and their operational requirements.
