About the position

The Management & Program Analyst position at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) involves assisting the Area Resource Conservationist for Programs in managing financial assistance programs. The role includes tracking agreement actions, providing support for quality assurance reviews, and ensuring compliance with program guidance. This position is critical for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations within the USDA's Farm Production and Conservation (FPAC) division.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Area Resource Conservationist for Programs with managing financial assistance programs.
  • Run reports and track agreement actions for completion.
  • Inform field offices of actions and provide follow-up assistance with contract maintenance.
  • Support the program portion of field office Quality Assurance reviews.
  • Review application assessments and rankings for consistency with program guidance.
  • Assist with program contract modifications, cancellations, terminations, and associated requirements.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level in the Federal service, or a combination of education and experience that totals at least 100%.
  • For GS-9: Specialized experience in administrative business operations and programs, or a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree.
  • For GS-11: Specialized experience in administrative analytical work related to program operations, or a Ph.D. or equivalent graduate degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with financial management and program evaluation.
  • Knowledge of USDA programs and policies.
