About the position

The Software Engineering Manager for the Futures team at Intuit will lead the Software Acceleration Program, focusing on incubating emerging technologies and innovative user experiences. This role is pivotal in driving technological innovation to enhance the financial solutions offered to consumers and small businesses, ensuring that Intuit remains at the forefront of the industry.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality platform capabilities that simplify and solve for current business needs while building for the future.
• Lead positive change, empowering people, cultivating product technology visions and innovative solutions, and fostering effective engineering teams.
• Build strong relationships with partners in PM, PMO, XD, Data Engineering, Data Science, and more to deliver outstanding software.
• Initiate and drive the adoption of technology, product, and process improvements throughout the software delivery life cycle.
• Provide technical leadership, career development, and management of performance, objectives, and priorities of all reporting staff.
• Drive and own the functional and non-functional requirements road map for your organization.
• Develop product expertise and advocate on behalf of the customer.
• Drive initiatives to improve testing at all levels & deliver automation to ensure robustness and a seamless customer experience.
• Drive adoption of best practices, tools, systems, and metrics across the organization.

Requirements

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related area, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in delivering software products with 3+ years as a technical leader of software engineering teams.
• Proven track record of leading high performing teams.
• Hands-on engineering leader with experience in high visibility initiatives.
• Strong belief in agile and lean thinking with a passion for velocity, engineering, and operational excellence.
• Comfortable working on all tiers of modern applications, with strong exposure to Enterprise Java platform, Spring Framework, ReactJS, AWS, and Kubernetes.
• Solid software development fundamentals including Data Structures, algorithms, problem solving, OO Design, and system architecture.
• Expert communicator with experience working with multiple stakeholders for common outcomes.
• Strong business acumen and strategic thinking for all stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
• Familiarity with SaaS and public cloud deployments.
