About the position
The Engineering Manager for Mailchimp will lead a high-performing team of software engineers to enhance the customer experience on mailchimp.com. This role involves designing and building infrastructure to support marketing campaigns globally, maintaining site performance, and optimizing user journeys. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, support requirement definition, and prioritize operational processes to meet the needs of MarTech teams.
Responsibilities
- Participate in and cultivate a culture of direct, compassionate feedback.
- Engage in a results-oriented work style and encourage transparent communication.
- Facilitate effective collaboration and teamwork.
- Coach and mentor team members in decision making and problem solving.
- Work with engineering leadership to iterate on the strategic MarTech Roadmap.
- Continually prioritize and assess the value proposition for deliverables.
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers while collaborating with various stakeholders.
- Foster candid conversations around process and solutioning with internal customers.
- Experiment and create innovative, revenue-driving experiences on mailchimp.com.
- Work cross-functionally with product, design, marketing, legal, analytics, Gen AI, and people teams to define and scope objectives.
Requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey complex ideas to diverse audiences.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams.
- Desire to work in a highly collaborative environment and contribute to requirement definition and roadmap planning.
- Experience running successful high-capacity, large-scale projects or architectures.
- Ability to hold technical conversations with engineers and provide direction as needed.
Nice-to-haves
- Strong understanding of Content Management Systems (CMS), particularly Contentful.
- Experience with MarTech and Gen AI for marketing.
- Experience leading a team of full stack engineers.
- Experience implementing international solutions for websites, including localization and personalization.
