We are looking for an Engineering Manager to support our Partnerships Platform and API Core teams. In this role, we are looking for someone excited to support a dynamic, high-performing team of engineers. We are looking for a leader who can help drive the technical strategy of platform teams whose work has broad impact across Mailchimp's data ingestion capabilities. This person will help define quality and excellence across a technically complex space. As an Engineering Manager, you will enjoy defining processes and operations across a wide customer base utilizing the same tools and data. You will have a strong understanding of Cloud Data Infrastructure (GCP / AWS) and be a strong written and verbal communicator, able to distill and convey complex ideas to audiences with varying levels of technical depth. You will also have experience working with cross-functional teams and a desire to work in a highly collaborative environment, actively contributing to requirement definition, roadmap planning, and team-level office hours.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Partnerships Platform and API Core teams as an Engineering Manager.
  • Drive the technical strategy of platform teams impacting Mailchimp's data ingestion capabilities.
  • Define quality and excellence across a technically complex space.
  • Participate in and cultivate a culture of direct, compassionate feedback.
  • Encourage transparent communication and facilitate effective collaboration and teamwork habits.
  • Lead strategic and architectural thinking while leveraging your technical skillset.
  • Work effectively with leaders across teams to align team contributions with organizational goals.
  • Coach and mentor decision-making and problem-solving within the team.
  • Identify and sponsor growth opportunities for team members.
  • Collaborate with Tech Partnerships and Engineering Department leadership to drive the technical and strategic roadmap in the API and Partnerships+Integrations space.
  • Prioritize and assess the value proposition for each deliverable being invested in.
  • Foster candid conversations around processes and ways of doing work.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of Cloud Data Infrastructure (GCP / AWS).
