About the position

Intuit's MarTech organization is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a team of software engineers in delivering innovative marketing technology solutions. This role involves overseeing the technical direction of the team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation, and implementing scalable solutions that integrate various technologies to meet business needs. The position is hybrid, allowing for in-person collaboration in Mountain View, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering their growth and ensuring high performance.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to define technology strategy and architecture for key marketing capabilities.
  • Oversee the evaluation of vendors and make build vs. buy decisions in partnership with Product Managers.
  • Drive the team towards adopting best practices in software development, testing, and deployment.
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables to ensure on-time and high-quality product releases.
  • Facilitate cross-team collaboration and communication to drive organizational goals.
  • Cultivate a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and technical excellence within the team.
  • Participate in hiring and retention efforts to build and maintain a strong engineering team.
  • Provide regular performance feedback and career development guidance to team members.
  • Represent the engineering team in leadership meetings and contribute to broader organizational strategies.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a management role.
  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in building scalable, resilient, and observable distributed systems.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and growing engineering teams.
  • Experience in setting technical vision and strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience driving collaboration across organizational boundaries, building multi-dimensional relationships, and importing and exporting ideas to achieve broad organizational goals.
  • Knowledge of AI and ML, with a strategic and innovative mindset to enable AI and GenAI into platform capabilities.
  • Prior experience with Marketing technologies.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Track record of mentoring and developing engineering talent.
