About the position

The Manager 2, Software Engineering position at Intuit involves leading the Fintech team responsible for money movement and risk assessment within the Small Business Group. This role focuses on building high-performing teams, ensuring operational excellence, and delivering scalable web applications while fostering a culture of growth and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Build high-performing teams by hiring and putting the right people in the right jobs at the right time
  • Lead operational excellence to deliver highly available, scalable web applications with utmost attention to quality, security, and performance metrics
  • Engrossed in the product, tech, and architecture details to create a feasible, high-quality development plan
  • Maintain a day-one mindset, challenge the status quo, and keep an open mindset in the team
  • Experience prioritizing and managing deadlines and deliverables while keeping transparency over rational
  • Be transparent with the team members about their evaluations and frequently share progress
  • Remove barriers so the team can move fast
  • Help the team members grow and learn, and build an updated growth for each team member
  • Handle pivots and scope changes
  • Partner effectively with all team members in the organization to deliver against commitments
  • Work cross-functionally with various Intuit teams: product management, various product lines, or business units to drive forward results
  • Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies
  • Commitment to team success and positive team dynamics
  • Passion for growing and applying technical skills in service to customers

Requirements

  • BS/MS in computer science or equivalent work experience
  • 4+ years experience as an established technical leader of software engineering teams that have successfully delivered customer-driven software products
  • Demonstrated experience leading positive change, empowering people, cultivating product technology visions and innovative solutions, and fostering effective engineering teams
  • Adept at articulating the product vision and driving the future roadmap with solid business acumen
  • Ability to think and act strategically for all stakeholders
  • Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills
  • 'Self-starter' attitude and ability to make decisions independently
  • A helpful, can-do attitude and a willingness to take ownership of problems
  • Strong desire to learn and grow
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a history of superb delivery against assigned tasks
