About the position
The Manager Access and Scheduling position at Houston Methodist is responsible for implementing standardized processes to achieve high levels of service excellence, access, and patient satisfaction. The manager will oversee daily operations, staff management, and ensure compliance with ethical and legal standards while fostering a patient-centric culture.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily work activities of the department staff to ensure quality and productivity.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to staff, ensuring effective performance management.
- Conduct regular department meetings to review policies and operational matters.
- Facilitate team dynamics and process improvements within the department.
- Plan and organize day-to-day department operations and activities.
- Drive department service standards to enhance patient/customer satisfaction.
- Utilize key metrics to optimize overall performance and present outcomes to leadership.
- Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and monitor department workflow for improvements.
- Assist in developing and managing the department budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
- Identify and implement innovative solutions for workflow changes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- Five years of progressively responsible experience in a healthcare profession or administrative capacity, including two years in a contact/call center and two years in a management role.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience in operations and process improvement.
