About the position

Baker Tilly is seeking a Manager to join our Transaction and Financial Advisory practice, specifically within our CFO Advisory team. This role is pivotal in helping CFOs, Controllers, and Finance Directors enhance their financial reporting processes, ensuring that finance contributes effectively to business operations. The CFO Advisory practice is designed to empower finance executives to achieve significant and sustainable performance improvements through technical analysis and process enhancement services. Our clientele ranges from emerging growth companies to publicly traded firms across various industries, including technology, business services, manufacturing, energy, real estate, hospitality, retail, and private equity. The CFO Advisory Services team at Baker Tilly consists of practitioners from across the nation, all dedicated to solving problems and implementing improvements that allow finance organizations to focus on growth and overall business enhancement. This practice area is staffed by professionals with diverse backgrounds and experiences, including former Chief Financial Officers, Controllers, financial statement auditors, and financial analysts, all of whom are highly credentialed. Our team is high-performing, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration to better serve our clients. In this role, you will actively participate in projects that focus on various service offerings, including GAAP Advisory, Business Analytics and Decision Support, Financial Accounting Advisory Services, Transaction Support, and Program/Project Management. You will supervise, develop, and train staff on engagements, actively participating in the team's work on projects. This hands-on approach will allow you to interact directly with senior managers and partners regarding client and engagement management. You will also play a crucial role in strengthening existing client relationships and developing new business opportunities by delivering outstanding client service. Effective communication with business owners, executive management, investors, lenders, and other sophisticated parties will be essential to ensure exceptional service delivery. Additionally, you will invest in your professional development through participation in training sessions and networking events, assist with recruiting activities, and demonstrate excellent team skills, a positive attitude, and high ethical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in projects focused on GAAP Advisory, Business Analytics and Decision Support, Financial Accounting Advisory Services, Transaction Support, and Program/Project Management.
  • Supervise, develop, and train staff on engagements.
  • Participate actively in the team's work on a project, demonstrating a hands-on approach.
  • Interact directly with senior managers and partners on matters related to client and engagement management.
  • Strengthen existing client relationships and develop new business opportunities by providing outstanding client service.
  • Communicate with business owners, executive management, investors, lenders, and other sophisticated parties to ensure delivery of exceptional client service.
  • Invest in professional development through active participation in training sessions and networking events both internally and externally.
  • Assist with recruiting activities, including campus recruiting and referring experienced individuals to the firm.
  • Participate in the firm's Employee Referral Bonus Program.
  • Demonstrate excellent team skills, a positive attitude, and high ethical standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial advisory, accounting, or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting processes.
  • Experience in managing teams and developing staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves
