About the position

Baker Tilly is currently seeking a Manager to join our Transaction and Financial Advisory practice, specifically within our CFO Advisory team. This role is pivotal in helping CFOs, Controllers, and Finance Directors enhance their financial reporting processes, ensuring that finance contributes significant value to business operations. The CFO Advisory practice is dedicated to enabling finance executives to achieve substantial and sustainable performance improvements through technical analysis and process enhancement services. Our clientele ranges from emerging growth companies to publicly traded firms across various industries, including technology, business services, manufacturing, energy, real estate, hospitality, retail, and private equity. As a Manager in the CFO Advisory Services team, you will be part of a high-performing group of professionals with diverse backgrounds, including former Chief Financial Officers, Controllers, financial statement auditors, and financial analysts. This collaborative environment fosters learning and development, allowing team members to share their expertise while providing practical, hands-on support to our clients. Your immediate responsibilities will include actively participating in projects that focus on GAAP Advisory, Business Analytics and Decision Support, Financial Accounting Advisory Services, Transaction Support, and Program/Project Management. In this role, you will supervise, develop, and train staff on engagements, ensuring that the team is well-equipped to deliver exceptional client service. You will also interact directly with senior managers and partners regarding client and engagement management, strengthening existing client relationships while developing new business opportunities. Your ability to communicate effectively with business owners, executive management, investors, and lenders will be crucial in delivering outstanding service. Additionally, you will invest in your professional development through training sessions and networking events, assist with recruiting activities, and demonstrate excellent team skills, a positive attitude, and high ethical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in projects focused on GAAP Advisory, Business Analytics and Decision Support, Financial Accounting Advisory Services, Transaction Support, and Program/Project Management.
  • Supervise, develop, and train staff on engagements.
  • Engage directly with senior managers and partners on client and engagement management matters.
  • Strengthen existing client relationships and develop new business opportunities by providing outstanding client service.
  • Communicate with business owners, executive management, investors, lenders, and other sophisticated parties to ensure exceptional client service delivery.
  • Invest in professional development through participation in training sessions and networking events.
  • Assist with recruiting activities, including campus recruiting and referring experienced individuals to the firm.
  • Demonstrate excellent team skills, a positive attitude, and high ethical standards.

Requirements

  • 6+ years' experience in a large accounting firm in audit or financial advisory service line.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA).
  • Knowledge and ability to use appropriate tools, applications, and accounting and finance concepts to facilitate analysis.
  • Skills with Power BI and/or Tableau is a plus.
  • Current GAAP advisory knowledge and application.
  • Exposure to Middle Market financial suite of applications, such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, IntAcct, etc., and their functionality, workflows, automated controls, and data consolidation.
  • High motivation, initiative, and a positive attitude.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and handle multiple priorities appropriately.
  • Advanced modeling and Excel skills, with experience conducting complex quantitative and qualitative financial analysis and generating data-driven insights.
  • Ability to work autonomously, meet tight deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting analyses to management and leading initiatives.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with all levels of client personnel in various industries.
  • Ability to comfortably interact with senior-level client personnel, including supporting the preparation of and participating in executive briefings.
