About the position

The Minneapolis office of IPG SC&E is seeking a Manager of Accounting to join the Corporate Accounting team. This role is pivotal in managing finance-focused tasks that include cost allocations, preparing IT cost benchmarking, tracking capital expenditures, and reporting. The Manager of Accounting will also serve as a backup for financial system loads from cSAP to Hyperion, ensuring smooth operations within the accounting department. This position will provide essential support to the Global Controller and Senior Manager of Accounting, particularly in meeting quarterly reporting requirements and assisting with special projects as they arise. As part of a global entity that encompasses several industry-leading marketing and communications agencies, including Weber Shandwick, Golin, Octagon, Momentum, and Jack Morton Worldwide, the Manager of Accounting will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity of the organization. IPG SC&E employs over 5,000 people worldwide and is a part of The Interpublic Group of Companies, one of the largest advertising and marketing services organizations globally. The successful candidate will be expected to prepare allocations of central IT costs and network fees to various brands and agencies, cross-train with the Senior Manager of Accounting, and assist in quarterly reporting requirements. Additionally, the role involves working closely with the SC&E CIO to complete IT cost benchmarking and realigning cSAP jobs to improve reporting accuracy. The Manager of Accounting will also be responsible for tracking capital expenditures and budget approvals for SC&E brands, preparing quarterly fixed asset reconciliations, and serving as a backup for the financial system load process from cSAP to Hyperion. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple tasks effectively in a deadline-oriented environment, demonstrating strong analytical skills and the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare allocations of central IT costs and network fees to our brands/agencies
  • Cross-train with Senior Manager of Accounting and assist in quarterly reporting requirements
  • Assist Global Controller of SC&E on special projects
  • Work with SC&E CIO to complete IT cost benchmarking
  • Realignment of cSAP jobs to client, division, and product classification to improve reporting
  • Track capital expenditures and budget approvals for SC&E brands and prepare quarterly fixed asset reconciliation
  • Back-up to financial system load process from cSAP to Hyperion

Requirements

  • Four-year accounting degree
  • CPA / MBA a plus
  • Minimum 8+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Comfortable with and able to work in a variety of tasks in a deadline-oriented environment
  • Able to learn and adapt quickly and have the capability to utilize technology efficiently
  • Ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize, and think analytically in completing duties
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel and MS Office products required
  • Detail-oriented and well organized with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Prior experience with SAP and Hyperion preferred
