About the position

The Manager Accounting is responsible for overseeing the daily general accounting and Procure to Pay (PTP) activities, which include inventory and cost analysis, gross-to-net analysis, management of fixed assets, accounts reconciliations, and financial reporting. This role requires ensuring the consistent application of US GAAP, with knowledge of IFRS being a plus. The Manager will also maintain internal controls and manage offshore PTP Analysts and Staff Accountants in their general accounting activities, including the review and posting of journal entries. In addition to these responsibilities, the Manager Accounting will assist with data collection, analysis, documentation, and review of financial information to ensure compliance with SOX and audit requirements. Timely and accurate completion of monthly and quarterly account reconciliations and the Financial Reporting Package is essential. The role also involves performing financial analysis, including researching and explaining fluctuations in inventory, Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), reserves, sales, expenses, and other key balance sheet and Profit & Loss (P&L) accounts. The Manager will coordinate and assist with internal and external audit requirements, including financials and analytical reporting, and will participate in the preparation of budgets and forecasts related to headcount, payroll, and finance. Additionally, the Manager will engage in special projects and perform ad-hoc analysis and duties as directed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily general accounting and Procure to Pay activities.
  • Conduct inventory and cost analysis, including gross-to-net analysis.
  • Oversee fixed assets and accounts reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and maintain internal controls.
  • Manage and guide offshore PTP Analysts and Staff Accountants in general accounting activities.
  • Assist with data collection, analysis, documentation, and review of financial information for SOX compliance.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly/quarterly account reconciliations and Financial Reporting Package.
  • Perform financial analysis and explain fluctuations in inventory, COGS, reserves, sales, expenses, and other key accounts.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting and people management.
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of business and industry standards.
  • Thorough understanding and application of US GAAP; IFRS knowledge is a plus.
  • Experience in Cost Accounting cycle and gross-to-net accounting preferred.
  • Ability to lead change initiatives and process improvements.
  • Self-starter, quick learner, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of Procure to Pay, intercompany, and shared-service processes.
  • SAP working knowledge is a plus.
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field or equivalent experience required.
  • System implementation experience would be a plus.
  • Working experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry preferred.
