About the position

The Manager of Actuarial Analytics at Providence Health Plan is responsible for overseeing pricing, forecasting, and reserving deliverables within the organization. This role involves coaching and setting priorities for direct reports, collaborating across various departments, and serving as a technical resource and mentor to Actuarial Analysts. The position requires a strong understanding of healthcare and actuarial trends, as well as government regulations, to effectively manage commercial pricing and build relationships with other leaders in the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Produce pricing, forecasting, and reserving deliverables.
  • Coach and set priorities for direct reports.
  • Collaborate across multiple departments to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Function as a technical resource and mentor to Actuarial Analysts.
  • Maintain an understanding of changing healthcare and actuarial trends.
  • Remain current on government regulations and analytic techniques.
  • Manage Commercial pricing, forecasting, and reserving.
  • Build and maintain relationships with leaders across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Social Science, or a related field.
  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation and/or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation.
  • 7+ years of healthcare actuarial analytics experience with Medicare Advantage pricing and bid development.
  • Experience writing queries in SQL or another programming language.
  • Demonstrated experience applying project management skills in data-related and financial analysis projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Social Science, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of healthcare actuarial analytics experience with Commercial Pricing or Valuation.
  • Experience certifying the Commercial Rate Filing.
  • Experience with Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid revenue methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience managing professional staff who work independently.
