About the position

The Manager of Admin. Design/Construction at Nicklaus Children's Hospital is responsible for overseeing the design and construction management functions of the hospital and its off-campus facilities. This role involves planning, organizing, directing, and controlling construction projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and providing leadership to project management staff. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure successful project execution and adherence to budget and timelines.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the design and construction projects for the hospital and off-campus facilities.
  • Provide leadership to staff managing new and renovation construction projects.
  • Oversee the execution of organizational capital construction projects valued between $100M-$250M.
  • Lead a team of 8+ project managers and coordinators throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and address safety concerns promptly.
  • Serve as the key liaison between project teams, stakeholders, and senior leadership.
  • Prepare project analysis risk reports and present them to the Director and involved parties.
  • Monitor and report on project status, costs, schedules, and compliance with KPIs.
  • Assist in developing and monitoring the operational budget for design and construction.
  • Evaluate and assign project requests from end users.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 4-7 years of experience in hospital facilities management, engineering, or construction management.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access) and project management software.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work.

Nice-to-haves

  • Registered Architect or Engineer in the State of Florida preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Experience managing multiple healthcare projects of significant size and complexity.
