About the position

The Manager Advanced Analytics at Grady Health System is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and other advanced analytics projects. This position is integral to the development and execution of the advanced analytics strategy and infrastructure within the organization. The manager will lead a team composed of advanced analytics specialists, AI/ML engineers, data scientists, and consultants, ensuring that the team is effectively aligned with the organization's clinical and business objectives. In this role, the manager will engage with key business partners to understand their priorities and identify strategic initiatives that can be enhanced through advanced analytics solutions. This includes the development and maintenance of enterprise AI/ML policies and procedures, as well as the review of existing analytic processes to identify best practices and opportunities for improvement. Staying current with the latest methodologies, tools, and industry trends in machine learning and artificial intelligence is essential for success in this position. The manager will also maintain a deep understanding of the underlying data models and data analysis concepts, enabling them to develop solutions that support and enhance business decisions through effective reporting. Leadership responsibilities include coaching and developing the advanced analytics teams, managing team workloads, and tracking project statuses. Additionally, the manager will oversee consultant relationships and projects related to advanced analytics, ensuring that all initiatives are executed efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Work with key business partners to understand business priorities and develop effective advanced analytic solutions.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise AI/ML policies and procedures, including target technology platforms.
  • Review existing analytic processes to identify best practices and opportunities for improvement.
  • Stay updated with the latest methodologies, tools, and industry trends in machine learning and artificial intelligence.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of underlying data models and data analysis concepts to support business decisions through reporting.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the advanced analytics teams.
  • Manage team workload and report on work status, tracking progress accordingly.
  • Manage consultant relationships and projects for advanced analytics initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in data science, computer science, management information systems, finance, statistics, or a related field.
  • At least five years of experience in data analytics, consulting, data engineering, software engineering, or a similar role.
  • Project Management & Agile Scrum experience.
  • Strong business acumen to engage in problem-solving sessions and discuss business issues in stakeholder language.
  • Ability to understand how data and analytics can help redesign work processes.
  • Experience in business case development to support selected use cases or measure impact/business value.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Five years of experience in the healthcare industry.
  • Familiarity with data governance in Informatica.
  • Experience with Agile Scrum methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps, Tableau, Epic, and Cognitive Computing platforms.
