About the position

The Manager, Advanced Analytics at Walmart will lead analytics efforts to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of the Marketplace platform. This role focuses on supporting the Product team in building capabilities and tools for Sellers to enhance their selling and shipping processes. The position involves creating a comprehensive view of performance and developing an analytics roadmap across the Product Lifecycle using advanced analytics tools. The role is highly visible and requires collaboration across various functions including Product, Engineering, Business, and Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as thought leader and trusted advisor to Product leadership and the larger product management team.
  • Demonstrate proactive, solution-oriented leadership and influence key decisions and priorities.
  • Identify product opportunities through a hypothesis-driven culture and data-driven deep dives.
  • Organize and assemble resources, technology, and processes to support Product Analytics needs.
  • Utilize various data sources to deliver critical insights to the organization.
  • Partner with Product Managers and Engineering teams to track and analyze product initiatives.
  • Leverage clickstream data to improve customer experience and influence product roadmaps.
  • Perform conversion analysis, funnel analysis, and impact sizing to influence decision-making.
  • Create effective reporting and dashboards using data visualization tools.
  • Define and monitor KPIs to measure product performance and health.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to ensure data accuracy for product engagement.
  • Use statistical power analysis and hypothesis testing to shape analytics strategy.
  • Design A/B tests to quantify the impact of new product features.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Business, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 6-8+ years of experience in data analysis or an analytical capacity.
  • 3+ years of experience in Product Analytics, Product Operations Analytics, Data Science, Digital Analytics, or eCommerce Analytics.
  • 2+ years of experience working with cross-functional teams and influencing Product, Engineering, Business, and Operations.
  • Proficient SQL programming skills with experience in integrating and analyzing large data sets.
  • Experience with big data technologies (Hive/Hadoop) and data visualization tools (Tableau, ThoughtSpot, Looker).
  • Experience supporting product launches, defining success KPIs, and building analytical dashboards.
  • Expert level understanding of Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to synthesize findings into actionable insights.
  • Strong organizational skills and a sense of ownership and accountability.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA or Master's Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics or a related technical field.
  • Background in Digital Product Analytics, Retail, and/or eCommerce.
  • Experience with A/B and Multivariate test design and implementation.
  • Retail and/or eCommerce industry experience in a data-driven environment.
  • Experience using enterprise-level product analytics platforms (e.g. Mixpanel, Quantum Metric, Splunk).
