About the position

The AI/ML Product Manager at Southwire Company, LLC is responsible for leading a team of data scientists to develop AI and machine learning strategies that drive product development and business growth. This role involves using data to identify opportunities, influence product direction, and guide cross-functional teams in executing product strategies. The manager will also focus on mentoring team members and advancing the data science discipline within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team of data scientists to develop AI/ML and data-driven business strategies.
  • Drive analytics projects end-to-end in partnership with cross-functional teams to inform, influence, and execute product strategy and investment decisions.
  • Influence product direction through clear and compelling presentations to leadership.
  • Work with large and complex data sets to solve a wide array of challenging problems using different analytical and statistical approaches.
  • Identify and measure the success of product efforts through goal setting, forecasting, and monitoring of key product metrics to understand trends.
  • Define, understand, and test opportunities and levers to improve the product/services, and drive roadmaps through insights and recommendations.
  • Contribute towards advancing the Data Science discipline, including driving data best practices, improving analytical processes, scaling knowledge and tools, and mentoring other data scientists.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in product management, artificial intelligence, or machine learning.
  • Strong leadership experience with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Proven experience in product development and ownership.
  • Expertise in generative AI and architecting AI/ML-based products for business applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Data/Decision Sciences or related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in product management or related fields.
  • Qualification and/or experience in AI product development.
