About the position

As a Manager of Medical Communications, you will be responsible for developing and managing customer-facing and internal medical, scientific, and informative communications in collaboration with medical affairs associates. This role focuses on the Americas Medical Affairs region, which includes both North America and Latin America. You will be tasked with the development of communication assets that include written materials, video-based content, and social media elements, all aligned with the medical affairs strategy. Your responsibilities will include the development and implementation of comprehensive communication strategies for medical affairs initiatives, ensuring that these strategies align with global medical affairs objectives and regulatory requirements. You will support the planning and execution of scientific congresses, medical symposia, and other medical activities in alignment with the global medical strategy and publications team. Additionally, you will assist the Medical Director team in creating scientific materials, such as scientific publications, medical education resources, and slide decks for scientific presentations. In this role, you will lead the implementation of pharmaceutical medical communications for the North America region in partnership with the global digital medical platforms manager. You will also support the Americas Medical Affairs organization with internal announcements and various communication needs, providing visibility of the Alcon Global Medical Affairs organization to both internal and external stakeholders. Utilizing innovation to solve problems across several functions will be a key aspect of your role. You will be responsible for circulating approved North America and Latin America medical affairs assets to the organization and tracking the asset portfolio of both regions. As a liaison between North America Medical Affairs and Creative Services and Corporate Communications, you will develop and implement strategies to enable business goals using digital communication and other tools. You will represent the Americas medical communications team in cross-regional and cross-functional interactions, ensuring alignment with medical affairs goals and objectives. Your responsibilities will also include operational objectives and long-term planning, as well as influencing key stakeholders to achieve medical and scientific communication objectives aligned with business objectives.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +13 yrs; Assoc.+9 yrs; M.S.+2 yrs; PhD+0 yrs).
  • Fluency in reading, writing, understanding, and communicating in English.
  • 5 years of relevant experience.

Nice-to-haves
