About the position

The Analytics Platform Engineer role at Pfizer is focused on the architecture, design, development, and management of operational analytics platforms within the Artificial Intelligence, Data and Advanced Analytics (AIDA) organization. This position plays a crucial role in leveraging advanced technologies to enhance Pfizer's data and analytics ecosystem, impacting various functions from research to manufacturing. The engineer will work with a range of technologies, including AWS, Graph databases, and programming languages, to support the development of innovative solutions that improve operational efficiency and data utilization across the company.

Responsibilities

  • Work with implementation leads, technical leads, and architects to understand new capability needs based on customer requirements.
  • Contribute to solution engineering for data pipelining and analytical platform projects.
  • Provide technical oversight for contracted team members designing, building, supporting, and maintaining analytic platforms/solutions.
  • Develop proof of concepts to demonstrate engineering capabilities.
  • Act as a key Subject Matter Expert (SME) for production troubleshooting.
  • Help develop a set of patterns for utilizing new capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with at least five years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree with three years of relevant experience; OR Associate's degree with eight years of relevant experience; OR Ph.D. with 0+ years of experience; OR 10 years of relevant experience with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated experience engineering solutions with data warehouse, data lake, and analytics technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience providing technical oversight of engineering team members.
  • Skills or aptitude for analysis, problem solving, organization, written communication, and facilitation.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience engineering systems in a structured software development lifecycle (SDLC/Agile).

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree
  • Relevant pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Experience with Agile Software Delivery and/or Scrum Master Certification
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, preferably R&D or clinical development.
