About the position

The Manager of Association Database Systems will oversee the design, development, and programming of the association management system (AMS). This role involves collaborating with various teams to manage data flows to ecommerce and digital data sources, ensuring the effective operation of the membership management software, and serving as the primary liaison with the database development company.

Responsibilities

• Manage the design, development, and programming of the association management system.
• Collaborate with teams to manage data flows to ecommerce and digital data sources.
• Serve as the primary liaison between FMI staff and the FMI database development company.
• Manage the software that allows FMI to run and manage its membership.
• Provide project management expertise and testing for all database integrations.
• Evaluate new applications in the development phase, including data testing.
• Develop training documents and present end-user training.
• Collaborate with employees to help them perform their jobs effectively.
• Oversee incoming data from external companies to ensure accuracy and reduce duplication.

Requirements

• A minimum of three to five years of prior professional work experience in a similar role or related field, specifically managing a database.
• A college degree or equivalent work experience in computer science.
• Prior experience in a computer database support position with extensive knowledge of data structure and database management procedures.
• Report writing experience.
• Extensive knowledge of association business practices including conference registration, accounting and budgeting, and order entry and processing.
• Excellent people skills with an ability to collaborate with various colleagues and external vendors.
