About the position

At InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), we are looking for a passionate and experienced Manager for B2B Tradeshows & Events to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in creating exceptional experiences for our global B2B audience through various events, including brand activations, customer entertainment events, tradeshows, and executive meetings. The primary goal is to educate our customers about our brands, deepen relationships, and enable the sales organization to drive business opportunities. You will lead a small team of event managers and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of these events. In this position, you will assist in the development, sourcing, and implementation of all elements necessary within the event lifecycle. This includes working with production companies, audio/visual teams, and creative agencies to ensure that each event meets our high standards. You will also be responsible for developing specifications for each initiative, including target audience selection, creative approaches, and production details. Your ability to communicate effectively and manage expectations will be crucial as you partner with stakeholders to align on timelines and budget processes. Additionally, you will ensure the timely delivery of event registration launches and invitations to customers using the Cvent registration platform. Supporting event managers with their smaller tradeshows and events will also be part of your responsibilities. This role requires a strong background in B2B events management, excellent communication skills, and a passion for creating memorable experiences for our guests.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and execution of experiential events for customers within our global B2B audience.
  • Lead a small team of event managers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
  • 5 years' progressive experience in B2B events management.
  • Cvent registration experience is required.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Cvent Registration, and project management programs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in managing large-scale events.
  • Familiarity with hotel and hospitality industry standards.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
