About the position

The Manager of Business Intelligence (BI) and Reporting at Community Health Plan of Washington plays a pivotal role in managing and driving the delivery of enterprise-wide reporting and analytics services. This position is responsible for overseeing a high-performing BI team that engages in business analysis, data insights, predictive analytics, and dashboard development. The manager will collaborate closely with Data Management, Application Development, and Infrastructure teams to define the BI infrastructure, ensuring it aligns with the organization's strategy and roadmap. The role also involves partnering with enterprise health services, clinical program management, product teams, and various core business units to facilitate the design and evolution of a fully integrated data analytics platform. In this leadership position, the manager will lead, mentor, and manage the BI team, overseeing resource allocation and productivity while conducting assessments and ongoing staff development. They will own the design, development, and maintenance of data analytics platforms that influence product decisions. The manager will collaborate with senior management and stakeholders to understand data needs, recommend strategic solutions, and establish standards for business analysis and development practices. Additionally, they will manage technology vendors supporting key analytics initiatives and deliver results in an agile environment, prioritizing business needs. The manager will orchestrate cross-functional activities for timely deliverables and standardize dashboard/report consumption for budgeted BI service delivery. They will lead technical programs aligned with enterprise strategic planning and identify opportunities to align projects with business-critical initiatives. The role also includes developing and maintaining automated systems, reports, and dashboards to drive key decisions, ensuring compliance with established standards in BI activities, overseeing deployment and troubleshooting of BI solutions, and monitoring/reporting improvements in BI systems and services. The manager will seek alignment and collaboration across the enterprise to generate transformative outcomes that are appropriately resourced and scalable. They will also oversee and provide strategic direction for network strategy, evaluate the effectiveness of network composition, and oversee credentialing and provider contracting strategies. Furthermore, the manager will be a key point of contact with the core constituents of the Network, including active outreach and visibility with Network leaders, and will oversee the design and development of market-driven products and services to achieve the organization's mission.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • Managed care health plan or health care industry experience, preferably with state and federal government health insurance programs.
  • Minimum five (5) years of software development experience as a lead or manager.
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience working in a complex organization structure across functional teams.
  • Minimum two (2) years of project management or related experience, preferably with Agile/Scrum methodology.
  • Proficient in object-oriented design, SQL coding, data analysis, and development using BI tools.
  • Experience with professional software engineering practices including full software development cycle, coding standards, and testing.

Nice-to-haves
