About the position

The Manager of Biostatistics at Pfizer plays a crucial role in supporting drug discovery and development through statistical expertise. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with vaccine assay specialists to support vaccine clinical and diagnostic assay development, qualification, and validation.
  • Support vaccine preclinical and nonclinical development in collaboration with preclinical scientists.
  • Ensure statistical rigor and good scientific practices are followed in protocols, analysis plans, and manuscripts.
  • Provide statistical expertise for regulatory submissions and ensure quality of submission deliverables.
  • Maximize the value of aggregate clinical and preclinical data in support of scientific and vaccine development strategies.
  • Serve as a core member of scientific teams to determine strategy and deliver results in a timely manner.
  • Standardize processes and methodologies, including developing statistical tools for standardized analyses.
  • Prepare internal and external reports, presentations, and manuscripts to improve decision-making quality.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Statistics/Biostatistics.
  • 3-5 years of pharmaceutical experience.
  • Some pre-clinical and non-clinical experience is required.
  • Strong technical competence in statistical computing.
  • Sound understanding of design of experiments and assay development.
  • Good knowledge of drug development regulations pertinent to statistical analysis.
  • Experience collaborating 1:1 with scientists and/or non-statisticians.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with research scientists.
  • Demonstrated ability to create computational tools for data visualization.
  • Good computational skills in R and SAS.

Nice-to-haves

  • PhD in Statistics/Biostatistics or relevant discipline.
  • Assay validation experience, particularly clinical assays.
  • Vaccine development experience.
