About the position

The Manager of Brand Communications for Soccer at Adidas is responsible for developing and managing a comprehensive communications strategy that aligns with the global and US brand direction. This role involves executing plans across various commercial teams, ensuring that marketing elements are informed by relevant consumer insights and athlete culture. The position serves as the category expert, driving integrated communications planning and managing relationships with internal and external partners to support marketing initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage a communications strategy and plan based on global and US brand direction.
  • Act as the point person for the category, contributing to business goals and positioning strategy.
  • Maintain an understanding of the category athlete and culture to inform marketing elements.
  • Partner with Global to align on strategy and influence the development of relevant campaigns.
  • Drive integrated communications planning for key concepts and category initiatives.
  • Manage relationships and deliver briefs to design and agency partners for campaign execution.
  • Drive media and digital activation strategies, including analytics and creative development.
  • Collaborate with Trade Marketing and eComm to leverage retail opportunities and ensure impactful marketing toolkits.
  • Create and deliver presentations for seasonal product sell-in and marketing plans.
  • Manage category budget priorities with internal and external partners.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, or a related field.
  • Minimum of four years of marketing experience, preferably in sporting or consumer goods.
  • Experience in developing integrated marketing communications programs.
  • Strong understanding of the marketing mix and consumer motivation.
  • Experience leading digital strategy and innovative marketing initiatives.
  • Strong project management and planning skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills, particularly in PowerPoint.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct management responsibilities.

  • Experience in the sporting goods industry and related retail channels.
