About the position

DSW is seeking a talented and creative Brand Strategy Manager who is analytical and results-oriented to develop and champion strategic marketing campaigns. This remote position is responsible for managing seasonal and key initiative-based marketing strategies. The role involves gathering data from various sources, synthesizing insights, developing integrated marketing strategies, and leading cross-functional partners to ensure seamless execution. The Brand Strategy Manager will be a critical thinker with a creative curiosity, an instinct for brand storytelling, and a well-informed strategic marketing point of view to drive business results. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Brand Strategy, this position will also lead a team of Brand Strategy Specialists and report to the Director of Marketing Strategy. The Brand Strategy Manager will compile industry trends, competitive patterns, consumer insights, business performance, and market results to extract key insights that will influence marketing strategy. They will develop integrated seasonal marketing strategies and campaigns that are grounded in insights, consistent with brand positioning, and aligned with brand objectives to effectively build the brand. Monitoring and analyzing the effectiveness of internal campaign performance and external brand competition will be crucial, as the manager will need to pull out insights and utilize learnings to impact future strategies. Collaboration with the Creative team will be essential to develop campaign concepts, ensuring alignment with strategy in terms of positioning, voice, and look/feel. Additionally, the Brand Strategy Manager will present seasonal and initiative-based strategies to the marketing department and key stakeholders, utilizing effective presentation and storytelling skills. They will partner with the marketing organization and channel owners to activate seasonal and initiative-based marketing plans, influencing tactical planning to ensure that strategies come to life effectively. The role will also assist in the development of seasonal content strategy and management of the seasonal Go To Market calendar.

Responsibilities

  • Compile industry trends, competitive patterning, consumer insights, business performance, and market results to extract key insights for marketing strategy development.
  • Develop integrated seasonal marketing strategies and campaigns that align with brand positioning and objectives.
  • Monitor and analyze internal campaign performance and external brand competition to inform future strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Creative team to develop campaign concepts, ensuring alignment with strategy.
  • Present seasonal and initiative-based strategies to the marketing department and key stakeholders using effective storytelling skills.
  • Partner with marketing organization and channel owners to activate marketing plans and ensure effective execution.
  • Assist in the development of seasonal content strategy and management of the Go To Market calendar.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in a marketing function with a focus on strategy.
  • 2+ years of experience leading and developing internal talent.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with cross-functional partners.
  • High level of critical thinking ability and curiosity, particularly in balancing multiple projects and priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel for presentation development and data analysis.
