About the position

The Building Automation System Manager will oversee the management, diagnosis, and operation of the Building Automation System (BAS) that controls all facilities at Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role involves close collaboration with key Facility Management personnel to ensure the effective functioning of HVAC systems and BAS controls, focusing on troubleshooting, repairs, and daily monitoring of operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage, diagnose, and operate the Building Automation System (BAS) for all facilities.
• Work closely with Facility Management personnel at Central Piedmont Community College.
• Maintain, diagnose, and repair BAS system graphics and logic, as well as sequence issues.
• Provide daily monitoring of BAS operations and HVAC systems.
• Analyze performance, inventory control, and quality assurance.
• Assist the onsite building operations team with troubleshooting and repairs of HVAC systems, focusing on BAS controls and components.
• Monitor BAS and HVAC systems, including alarm management, performance, programming, and occupancy schedules.
• Consult with management to identify and document service delivery needs and operational procedures.
• Provide technical HVAC and BAS assistance in developing systems and procedures.
• Input work orders in the Asset Essential CMMS system and complete self-assessed work orders in a timely manner.
• Develop and implement quality assurance processes.

Requirements

• Tridium AX & N-4 Certification required.
• 10 years of experience with various control systems including Trane, Tridium, Niagara, Distech, Johnson Controls Metasys, rover, and Honeywell.
• Experience in the controls industry and PM/HVAC/BAS/CMMS analytics.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of DDC controls as they apply to the HVAC industry.
• Self-starter with a high-level interest in maintaining HVAC and DDC controls skills through self-study and training.
