About the position

The Manager, Business and Data Operations at Hightower Advisors is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the Business and Data Ops team within the Central Office organization. This role focuses on ensuring the quality and consistency of client, account, and transaction data across technology systems, developing strategies to address data quality issues, and leading data remediation efforts. The position requires collaboration with advisor and corporate teams to enhance operational processes and support advisor teams effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Business and Data Ops team, ensuring efficient processing and monitoring of team activities.
  • Collaborate with Technology and Operations teams to identify trends and opportunities for standardizing business rules within the Data Governance process.
  • Handle complex inquiries and escalations from partners, developing thoughtful execution plans for resolution.
  • Conduct outreach to advisor teams to investigate data discrepancies and collaborate with stakeholders to correct data at the source.
  • Analyze data quality reports to identify inconsistencies and implement efficient processes for data accuracy and consistency.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of data remediation efforts and track improvements in data quality.
  • Maintain documentation of data discrepancies, remediation plans, and progress, ensuring compliance with service level agreements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years' experience in Operations or a similar role in the Financial Services field, preferably in a management role.
  • Experience with multiple technology systems and platforms, preferably with Custodians or Financial Performance Reporting systems.
  • Developed understanding of the operational details of the advisory business functions (IT, Finance, Operations, Compliance).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data reports.
