About the position

The Business Operations and Finance Manager at Children's Hospital Los Angeles is responsible for overseeing the financial operations and budget management of the Department's outreach and clinical activities. This role involves conducting detailed financial analysis, developing and managing annual budgets, preparing financial reports, and monitoring expenses. The manager will collaborate closely with departmental leadership and may supervise staff to ensure effective financial and operational support, making this a critical position for strategic planning and decision-making within the department.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial operations and budget management of the Department's outreach and clinical activities.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis and modeling.
• Develop and manage annual budgets.
• Prepare financial reports and monitor monthly and quarterly expenses.
• Create budget variance reports.
• Provide timely and accurate financial and business data for strategic planning and decision-making processes.
• Collaborate with departmental leadership and supervise staff as needed.

Requirements

• 5 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, financial management, or strategic planning.
• Strong proficiency in PC applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software, with intermediate skill level in Excel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to anticipate and resolve problems and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
• Proficient in operating a PC with relevant software and using telecommunication tools.
• Bachelor's Degree required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in Clinical Finance and/or Grants Management is highly desirable.
• Master's Degree in Business Administration or Healthcare Administration preferred.
