About the position

The Business Manager at the Liliʻuokalani Center is responsible for supporting the operations and administrative management of the center, which aims to provide Hawaiian youth with opportunities for personal and professional growth. This role involves overseeing operational budgets, managing projects, and ensuring effective communication across teams to meet the center's goals. The Business Manager will work closely with program leadership to develop project timelines, manage resources, and maintain accountability for the success of various programs.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with program leadership to inventory tasks and develop project timelines.
  • Oversee activities and progression of projects including program planning, contract development, and budgeting.
  • Prepare documents, reports, and presentations as needed.
  • Create annual budget proposals and manage expenditures for assigned programs.
  • Establish workflows and standards for administrative and operational functions.
  • Ensure operational needs of each program are identified and met efficiently.
  • Optimize communication opportunities and guide internal and external messaging.
  • Conduct research and provide data-informed solutions tailored to specific needs.
  • Advise and support teammates in partnership development with youth service professionals.
  • Develop a network including contractors, community leaders, and partnering organizations.
  • Maintain file management systems for each assigned project and program.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of records and follow standardized procedures for retention.
  • Create and propose standard procedures for budgeting, contracts, and reports.
  • Act as liaison with Risk and Compliance team to ensure agreements align with program details.
  • Coordinate project plans and facilitate meetings for successful project progression.
  • Review project plans and provide recommendations for alignment with organizational goals.
  • Support quality control efforts in alignment with leadership's vision.
  • Lead other projects as assigned and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, project management, public administration, or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of experience managing complex projects or youth programs.
  • Strong writing skills with experience in preparing grants and reports.
  • Efficient verbal and written communication skills to engage with diverse teams.
  • Experience working with youth populations in a community setting preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
