About the position

The Manager of Business Operations for Planning Design and Construction at the University of Mississippi Medical Center is responsible for overseeing the daily business and administrative operations of Facilities Services. This role involves planning, directing, and coordinating activities to ensure service level and client satisfaction while participating in the development and implementation of strategic goals and policies.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the daily operations of Planning Design and Construction to ensure service level and client satisfaction.
  • Supervises the activities of staff, including work allocation and performance evaluation.
  • Manages and coordinates the day-to-day staffing and operations of the department, including special projects, ensuring compliance with all relevant university policies and procedures.
  • Collaborates in the development and implementation of short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, strategic plans, policies, and operating procedures; monitors and evaluates programmatic and operational effectiveness and implements measures to improve services.
  • Coordinates activities with other relevant staff to implement initiatives and improve the delivery of services.
  • Monitors and manages project and departmental budgets.
  • Manages special projects as needed and ensures completion within defined scope and timelines.
  • Prepares, reviews, analyzes, and interprets relevant documentation, reports, and forecasts; ensures reports are submitted within the applicable time frame.
  • Works with departmental leaders on special projects and committees.
  • Facilitates and collaborates in the planning, execution, and support of project schedules; serves as point of contact and acts as liaison for assigned projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Four (4) years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, and coordination of people and resources.
  • Problem resolution skills.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with a wide range of constituencies.
  • Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Ability to implement policies and procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize projects.
  • Ability to analyze and prepare applicable reports and documentation.
