About the position

The Manager of Business Operations Role at Lumen is a pivotal position within the Custom Networks team, responsible for directing a small to medium cross-functional team that focuses on custom network support, maintenance, enhancements, automation, configuration, and robotics for the Enterprise Delivery & Operations organization. This role is essential in ensuring that the team effectively collaborates with key internal business and IT/SP&T partners to define and manage system business priorities and requirements, ultimately driving system usability. Key activities for success in this role include establishing a consistent intake and prioritization process for all enhancements and defects across the Enterprise Delivery & Operations organization. The manager will partner with SP&T teams to prioritize and deliver solutions, creating an environment that emphasizes performance excellence. This involves facilitating a collaborative atmosphere that supports foundational feature development and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The manager will drive efficiency and effectiveness by utilizing best practices and processes to enhance competencies and develop team members. Additionally, the role requires managing a high-performing team that employs best practices and standardizes frameworks to maximize efficiencies. The manager will also be responsible for driving effective requirement gathering, feature creation, and development management practices to ensure results-focused rigor. Other duties may be assigned as necessary to support the overall objectives of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for establishing a consistent intake and prioritization process for all enhancements and defects across the Enterprise Delivery & Operations organization

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 7+ years of experience in telecommunications
  • 7+ years of managerial experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle competing priorities
  • Ability to empower the team to bring solutions instead of problems and challenge the status quo
  • Results oriented with a demonstrated track record of success
  • Ability to communicate at various leadership levels, when required
