The Manager, Business Operations will play a crucial role in supporting the revenue analytics and business planning for the ad sales organization. This position requires a consultative approach to work closely with sales executives, leveraging strong analytical skills to identify opportunities and risks that can drive revenue growth. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, focusing on strategic initiatives for a rapidly growing media property. In this role, the Manager will be responsible for forecasting and reporting revenue results, analyzing key performance metrics, fulfilling ad hoc analytics requests, and collaborating with management to develop actionable recommendations. The position involves supporting the AdsWizz team with general business analysis, including RFP volume and close rate analysis, historical account spending, and AE performance metrics. The Manager will also lead the development of recurring advertising reports for sales executives, conduct regular business reviews with key stakeholders, and support the preparation of monthly and quarterly revenue forecasts. The successful candidate will identify opportunities to enhance reporting formats and processes, drive the preparation of annual revenue targets, and develop detailed compensation plans. Building strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders across various departments, including finance, operations, HR, and legal, is essential. Staying current with media trends and digital advertising evolutions will also be a key aspect of this role, ensuring that the Manager can provide informed insights and recommendations to the sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Support the AdsWizz team with general business analysis including RFP volume and close rate analysis, historical account spending, AE performance metrics, and marketplace research.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis to develop new metrics and identify root causes for revenue fluctuations.
  • Lead the development and ongoing production of recurring advertising reports for sales executives and their teams.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with key sales stakeholders to focus on incremental revenue opportunities.
  • Support the development of monthly and quarterly revenue forecasts and their rationale.
  • Identify opportunities to improve current reporting formats, processes, and systems.
  • Drive the preparation of annual revenue targets and specific account planning by region, DSP, LOB, AE, site, and account.
  • Translate cross-platform and multi-national revenue performance to an executive audience succinctly.
  • Develop detailed compensation plans and execute them at an individual level, collaborating with the internal compensation team to improve plans.
  • Work with the sales team on strategic account reviews to identify opportunities to grow revenue per account and optimize cost of sale.
  • Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across the company in finance, operations, HR, and legal.
  • Stay current with media, technology, and competitive publisher trends and digital advertising evolutions.

Requirements

  • 5 years of business strategy, analytics, planning or related work, with prior experience in digital media strongly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to dissect complex issues and make thoughtful recommendations.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, capable of presenting complex analyses clearly.
  • Passion for digital media and consumer internet with strong intellectual curiosity.
  • Proven ability to persuade, build consensus, and work collaboratively with all levels of management.
  • Ability to take initiative and lead projects with minimal supervision in a high-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational, time, and people management skills, with the ability to work independently and in groups.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to influence decision-making.
  • Superior Microsoft Excel financial modeling and PowerPoint skills (or equivalent Google suite skills).
  • Experience working with Salesforce data.
  • Strong experience with data visualization tools, preferably Tableau.
  • Familiarity with SQL preferred.
  • Must have legal right to work in the U.S.
